Attend the Festival

Buy for a festival pass that allows you to pre-book tickets between 11 June and 4 July.

  • Festival Pass for R250 for 6 tickets
  • Single tickets, for each film, are also available at R80 per ticket – available for purchase at each cinema or through the cinema’s websites.

    Terms and Conditions

    • Festival Passes are for DIFF Films only, screening from 19 to 28 July 2024.
    • DIFF screenings take place at Nu Metro PavilionSter Kinekor Gateway and Suncoast CineCentre.

    DIFF will issue free Festival Passes to the first 300 films students to register. Upon confirmation of your current registration, at a recognized film school in South Africa , we will confirm your festival pass.

    Members of the media can apply for free media accreditation, which will allow you to pre-book 8 tickets between 11 June and 4 July. Upon confirmation of your application details, we will confirm your festival pass.

    Terms and Conditions

    • An applicant may work on either radio, television and / or print media. The applicant must have published at least three articles about the arts in 2023/4 and at least one of which should be about film or at least have more than 3 years of working in the media

    • Bloggers and influencers must provide details of their social media and have proof of writing at least 5 film-related posts during 2023/4.

    The DIFF welcomes emerging filmmakers to attend its isiPhethu Programme, set to take place from 22 to 26 July 2024 at the Belaire Suites Hotel. This programme is free of charge. However, registration is essential. Please note that access to each session is on a first come, first served basis.

    The DIFF invites emerging filmmakers to apply for DIFF’s isiZulu Scriptwriting Workshop. Ten applicants will be selected to participate in this 5-day programme, which runs alongside the festival.

    Terms and Conditions

    • Applicants should reside in KwaZulu-Natal.
    • Matriculated 
    • Written / co-written a film that was produced.
    • Prospective applicants have not already participated in this workshop
