Daniel Oriahi

Daniel Oriahi is a distinguished Nigerian filmmaker boasting over a decade of rich experience in the art and craft of filmmaking. His impressive portfolio includes directing and producing a diverse range of projects for esteemed media giants in Nigeria such as Netflix, Multichoice Africa, EbonylifeTv, FilmOne, Irokotv, and Ndanitv, among others. Notably, his second feature film, ‘TAXI DRIVER-OKO ASHEWO’ (2015), soared to great heights, ranking as the third highest-grossing Nollywood film in Nigerian cinemas for the year. This accomplishment was further underscored by its screening at the prestigious 2016 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Both ‘TAXI DRIVER’ and Daniel’s third feature film, ‘SYLVIAŐ (2018), a compelling psychological horror, are currently available for audiences on Amazon Prime Video. DanielŐs fourth feature film, ‘THE WEEKEND’, also a Psychological Horror, had its world premiere at Tribeca Festival in June 2024, promising a compelling addition to Daniel’s already illustrious filmography. From 2021 to 2023, Daniel served as the Head of the Department for DirectorŐs Toolkit for Film and TV at the esteemed Ebonylife Creative Academy in Lagos State, Nigeria. His contribution to nurturing the next generation of filmmakers is a testament to his dedication to the growth and development of the Nigerian film industry.
