Edgar Combrink, a perpetual re-offender, is released back to the gang-troubled Cape Flats to a family he hardly knows. To a forgotten suburb rife with unemployment and social decay in one of the most unequal cities in the world, Cape Town. Now that his daughter is starting high school, he needs to resist the ever-present pull of crime, if he wants to see her graduate.

DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY

Colin Macrae is a South African filmmaker who graduated with a first class honours in Television from Edinburgh Napier University. A recipient of the Royal Television Society Bursary, he graduated top of the class. His honours graduation film Walking in my Shoes shot in primary schools in Scotland and refugee camps in Lebanon, has been well received on the festival circuit and is currently being used in schools in Scotland as an educational resource. He is a graduate of the MA Filmmaking programme at the University of the West of Scotland. esCape Town is his Master’s project.
