Henet Ward

Halima, a Sudanese henna artist, is called on to assist a young Egyptian bride with her wedding preparations. The day does not go strictly to plan for Halima and her seven-year-old daughter Ward, and the encounter between the two women changes from complicity to rapidly unveiled tensions.

DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY

Morad Mostafa is an Egyptian director, born in 1988 in Cairo. He studied film directing in Cinema Palace in 2008 and at other filmmaking workshops. He has worked in the filmmaking industry since 2010 as an assistant director with several directors such as Mohamed Diab, Hala Khalil in Nawara, and Sherif Elbendary in Ali the Goat and Ibrahim. He directed his debut short film Henet Ward (Ward’s Henna Party) in 2019, which had its world premiere at Clermont Ferrand in February 2020.
