KEDIBONE a Sotho for “seen it all”. This is a coming of age South African feature film about an exotically beautiful Sotho girl by the name of Kedibone Manamela, born and raised in Orlando East, Soweto who chooses to live her early youth on the fast lane. Veiled from her loyal childhood boyfriend’s eyes, she bounces between being a good girl in the township and the it girl on the high end of Johannesburg streets. A dark threat looms over the day when the news of Kedibone’s escapades reach the young man.

DIRECTOR'S BIOGRAPHY

Thomas Gumede is an actor, director, executive producer and filmmaker. He also holds a BA degree in Live Performance. Thomas Gumede received the award for Best Actor in a drama at 2009’s SAFTA’s making him the youngest winner to date. In 2015 he received another SAFTA award for Best actor in a local sitcom. In just 15 years he has shared the screen and stage with some South Africa’s greatest actors, comedians and musicians. He has also featured and worked with international films sharing the screen with A-list Hollywood super starts such as Idris Elba, Meg Ryan, LL Cool J, William H Macy, Jason Ritter and many more. He is a walking platform for brands that associate themselves with a young, black successful entertainer and youth ambassador. Since 2012 he has since become an executive producer for 12 Television shows with multiple seasons on the Multichoice platform across various entertainment channels, creating each from the conceptualization phase all the way to production and delivery, also heavily involved in directing each production. He executive produced 12 short films for Mnet channel Mzansi Bioskop, directing one. He currently has a feature film titled Kedibone with a cinematic release in 2021.
