Kiarash Ardeshirpour

Kiarash Ardeshirpour, born in 1992, is an Iranian screenwriter and filmmaker based in Tehran. After leaving a software engineering program to pursue acting, he transitioned into cinema, gradually discovering his voice through screenwriting and directing. He later earned a BA in Film Editing from Tehran University of Applied Science and Technology in 2023. He received a €3000 CNC grant award for his 1-minute mobile film at the France mobile film festival in 2021. Then he wrote Hamster, directed by Fatima Nofely, which is the co-production of Iran and France and has started its festival circuit with Brussels International Film Festival 2024. Besieged, is his debut short film as the director which unfolds in Tehran.
