Juana was born in Bogotá, Colombia. She graduated as a director from the National Film School and completed a master's degree in directing and staging at the Escola de Cinema de Barcelona. She is the director, screenwriter, and producer of the short film EL DRAWING UN PEZ (2019) which has been widely recognized in more than twenty festivals around the world. Her work explores naturalism, female subjectivity, and family conflicts, from which her most recent short film emerges. She has made several short films around self-portraits, diaries, and audio-visual letters. She is currently working on the participation strategy for the construction of the new audio-visual policy in Colombia with the company Lado B.
