On an empty road in the middle of the night, Shula stumbles across the body of her uncle. Rungano Nyoni is a self-taught Writer / Director. Her debut featureI AM NOT A WITCH premiered in Cannes in 2017, earning the BAFTA for Outstanding Debut and British Independent Film Awards for Best Director and Best Debut Director, among many other international awards. Short film credits include LISTEN (European Film Award nominee), Z1 (BIFA winner), MWANSA THE GREAT (BAFTA nominee), and THE LIST (BAFTA Cymru winner). She was born in Lusaka, Zambia and grew up in Wales, UK.
