Synopsis

Fei will get the best birthday present ever if he finishes his homework. That is what his mother has promised him. But it’s already the last day of summer, and Fei hasn’t received anything yet. On this day, the two of them have been arguing all day. After their big fight, Fei frustratedly sorts out his schoolbag and suddenly finds a cassette tape he has forgotten. It’s part of the school assignment, recording a summer day on the tape, which he had forgotten entirely. With time running short, Fei and his mother decide to renew their relationship and set off on a bold plan to rewind the clock and experience the last day of summer together.

Kin Fai Wan

Wan Kin Fai, a Taiwanese of Indian and Cantonese descent, is a photographer, director and screenwriter who has been actively involved in film production since joining Chang Tso Chi Film Studio in 2013. There he worked as a photographer for C-CAM on Thanatos, Drunk (2015) and as a sound recordist on Synapses (2019). With family roots in Kolkata for over a century, he has always wanted to tell a story about the Chinese in Kolkata. He’s working on projects that focus on the Chinese community in India, especially in Kolkata, the only city in India where the Chinese community still lives together.
