John, released from prison into the unforgiving North-West of 1986, finds himself abandoned by his family and homeless. When John returns to his childhood church, he comes across Father Upton preaching fire and brimstone from the pulpit, and becomes enthralled by the display of sadism. Believing himself worthy of the divine punishment that Upton offers, John pursues the priest and attempts to provoke him, through a most heinous act.

Ben Lyons

Ben Lyons is a writer/director from the North-West of the UK and a graduate of MA Filmmaking at London Film School. He studied English Literature at the University of Sheffield for his undergraduate degree and has been telling stories for as long as he can remember. As a child he would draw storyboards for episodes of his favourite cartoons and as he grew his storytelling would evolve into fine art, poetry, and prose. Ben was surrounded by cameras his whole life, with his Nana and Grandad running a photography business, and now seeks to take his love of narrative to the moving picture.
