Javier Marco is a film director and screenwriter. He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering and studied film directing at the New York Film Academy. He was selected for Berlinale Talents in 2020 and Reykjavik Talent Lab in 2019. Throughout his career, he has garnered numerous awards and selections at prestigious festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, Cleveland, FICG Guadalajara, and Leeds. Among his most notable works are the short films ‘Classmate’ (2016), ‘El vestido’ (The Dress, 2017), ‘Uno’ (One, 2018), ‘Muero por volver’ (Dying to Return, 2019), and ‘A La Cara’ (Face to Face, 2020), which won the Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film in 2021. In 2021, Javier made his feature film debut with ‘Josefina’, which was selected for the New Directors section at the San Sebastián Film Festival and received three Goya Award nominations in the categories of Best Lead Actress, Editing, and New Director. He is currently in post-production on his second feature film, ‘A La Cara’, based on the short film of the same name.
