Keyanna Kyd is a third-year student at the Durban University of Technology pursuing a bachelor’s degree in applied arts and screen technology. She is a multi-skilled, all-rounder and has worked as a writer, director, production manager, editor and camera operator in coursework and extracurricular related projects. She has worked on more than ten productions including live studio productions, outside broadcasts, documentaries and dramas. In her first year at DUT in 2022, she was part of the team of an award-winning film The Magician’s Touch at the 48-hour film festival. In her second year she was selected as a DUT student representative to attend the Durban FilmMart where she met local and international industry professionals. For the third consecutive year she is serving as a student and department representative. After her graduation in 2024 she plans to pursue a career in scriptwriting and production management.
