Ms Sharon Gumede is a Senior Manager at the Durban Film Office, a department of Economic Development within eThekwini Municipality. Sharon has served in the Film Office since 2014, mainly responsible for driving a strategic direction of the office and has 11years experience in the film and tv industry. Sharon holds a National Diploma in Public Relations Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management through Unisa. Sharon has over 15 years’ experience in Marketing, Public Relations, Project Management, Brand Management and Media Communications. Sharon has served on stakeholder Boards and Committees: KwaZulu Natal Tourism and Film Authority Film Fund Committee, KwaZulu Natal Film and Television Awards (Simon Mabhunu Sabela Awards) Committee, South African Film & Television Awards (SAFTAs 2019 – 2020), Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Board Member and the Durban Film Mart PSC.
