Edouard receives a cassette from his wife, who has been away in the United States for some time. After years of silence, he and his daughter live with this relic, which bears witness to her journey, her setbacks, but also her love. An unexpected reunion plunges Edouard into deep reflection and grief. He is left pondering, “How can we wait for someone when all we have left of them are images of the past?” This intimate film, inspired by the director’s father who travelled to the United States on a makeshift boat, falls somewhere between documentary and fiction.
