Quan Phung is a global media strategist, creative executive, and producer with over 20 years of experience building and scaling premium television businesses for U.S. and international markets. He has held senior leadership roles across major studios, independent companies, and venture-backed startups, including Senior Vice President of Original Series at Topic Studios / First Look Media, where he built the television division and oversaw series sold to Apple TV+, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, and Disney/Freeform. His development work includes acclaimed series such as How I Met Your Mother, House, and Arrested Development. Quan brings deep expertise in structuring deals, working with international buyers and financiers, and advising on global content strategy, cross-border co-productions, and emerging formats. He has also contributed to the launch of Slingshot Global Media and advised STX Entertainment on international IP strategy. Currently, he is developing a pan-African micro-drama company, grounded in a strong belief in the scalability and global potential of African-led short-form storytelling. He is also actively engaged in projects spanning sci-fi, horror, animation, and AI-driven content. Quan Phung has been a key instructor across African Creative TV (ACTV) programs, an initiative of the American Film Showcase (AFS). In October 2025, he traveled to Kenya to lead a three-week Story Development & Showrunner Residency with some of Africa’s top television creators. He subsequently led sessions at the ACTV Pitching Workshop at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia in December 2025.
