Thea Small is a reformed, full-time fibber turned filmmaker. Thea has found a more socially acceptable outlet for making things up. Working across commercials, music videos, and film, she has built a career directing work recognised at the Loeries, Bookmarks, The One Show, and Ciclope International Festival of Craft, while her earlier narrative work earned her SAFTA nominations. Along the way, she has also written for South African television, including the International Emmy-nominated Sokhulu and Partners. Her work is driven by a fascination with performance, behaviour, and the things people reveal without meaning to. Above all else, she believes you can learn almost everything about a person from how they deal with the smallest inconvenience.
